Job Summary: South Shore Social is looking for a dedicated, energetic Bar Back to support our bartending team and ensure a top-notch experience for our guests. As a Bar Back, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, allowing our bartenders to provide quick and efficient service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Stock and Restock: Ensure the bar is fully stocked with spirits, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other supplies throughout the shift. Replenish items as they run low.
Cleanliness: Keep the bar area clean and organized, including removing empty glasses, wiping down surfaces, sweeping, and taking out the trash as needed.
Assist Bartenders: Support bartenders by prepping ingredients, organizing supplies, and occasionally mixing non-alcoholic beverages or simple drink components.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages to the bar manager to ensure consistent stock.
Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with guests, providing excellent customer service by answering questions and fulfilling simple requests.
Other Duties: Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setting up and breaking down the bar area, cleaning, and restocking for the next shift.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Bar Back or in a fast-paced hospitality environment is preferred but not required
Ability to work on your feet for extended periods
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks
Must be of legal age to work in a bar environment
Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
