Job Summary: South Shore Social is seeking an experienced and personable Front of House Manager to lead our team in delivering outstanding service and creating a welcoming, engaging environment for our guests. As Front of House Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our dining, lounge, and bar areas, ensuring consistent service quality and smooth coordination among team members. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with a strong understanding of hospitality, guest engagement, and team motivation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Supervise Front of House Staff: Manage and motivate the service team, including servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff, ensuring they provide exceptional service and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
Ensure Guest Satisfaction: Engage with guests, address any concerns or special requests, and resolve issues promptly to ensure every guest has a memorable experience.
Coordinate with Back of House: Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to maintain smooth operations and communication, ensuring orders are accurate, timely, and meet South Shore Social’s quality standards.
Oversee Event Coordination: Work with the events team to ensure that upcoming events are communicated to guests and that front-of-house staff are prepared to manage special events effectively.
Manage Scheduling and Staffing Levels: Create and maintain staff schedules based on anticipated guest volumes and special events. Adjust staffing levels as needed to optimize service and manage labor costs.
Train and Develop Staff: Conduct training sessions, provide feedback, and develop team members to improve service standards and create opportunities for growth within the company.
Monitor Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure that the dining, lounge, and bar areas are consistently clean, organized, and meet health and safety standards.
Inventory and Supply Management: Oversee front-of-house inventory, including managing supplies, tracking usage, and coordinating orders with vendors to ensure the team has what they need to deliver excellent service.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a management role within the hospitality or restaurant industry
Strong leadership skills and the ability to foster teamwork and positive morale
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling, and basic business operations
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Food handler’s permit and any necessary alcohol service certifications (if required by local law)
